BREW OUR HOUSE COFFEE
Let’s face it, you don’t see many beanie-bearing-barista-champions on Instagram reaching for the cafetiere. Although this classic brewing method doesn’t scream speciality, we’re advocating for a cafetière comeback.
The secret to brewing delicious coffee at home is consistency. With this simple brewing method, there are fewer variables to consider. With some trial and error involved, we recommend making small tweaks to the recipe in order to master your brew.
This recipe features our bright and juicy house coffee, The Wing. This coffee has a decadent, full-bodied taste profile, with vibrant flavour notes of summer fruits and the subtle fragrance of jasmine and sweet citrus.
The perfect pick me up for lazy Sunday mornings.
A RECIPE FROM THE ROASTERY
- Preheat your cafetière with boiling water, swirl it around, then empty the water
- Prepare 30 grams of coarsely ground coffee and 500ml of off-the-boil water
- Add the coffee to the cafetière followed by all of the water, ensuring to get all of the grounds completely wet
- Wait 4 minutes, after which stir in the coffee "crust" that forms on top. You can scoop off the foam that forms on top to help remove any bitterness.
- Wait another 2 minutes before gently pressing the plunger down, not all the way as you don't want to disturb the coffee grounds.
- Pour and enjoy
